About 10 years ago, I was running on empty.  The grind of grad school, working full-time, and navigating the demands of clinical work. I knew something had to shift. I needed space to breathe, reset, and reconnect with myself.

So I followed a nudge… and landed in Spain.

Through a language and culture exchange program, I lived with a host family, took immersive Spanish classes, and let myself slow down. I fell in love with the pace, the people, the food, the landscapes and the language. But most importantly, I reconnected with why I wanted to live intentionally, not just survive.

When the time came to choose a new place to plant roots, Spain was a natural yes.
We had a support network. We spoke the language. And the visa process was straightforward (for the most part).

But it was the lifestyle that sealed it.

Family-first culture. Kids are welcome everywhere. Truly—everywhere.
Epic playgrounds and parks. Even the tiniest towns have them.
Built-in community values. People here make time—for friendship, for connection, for life.
Nature + city life. Beaches, mountains, forests, vibrant urban centers—all within reach.

RELOCATION TIP: Consider countries where you already have support. Do you have any friends, colleagues or relatives who live in a place that intrigues you?

In Spain, we’ve built a life that feels aligned, grounded, and full. Now, I help others do the same.

If you’re dreaming of a fresh start, a different pace, or a move abroad that actually works for your real life—I’d love to help.

Where would you go if you gave yourself permission to dream?
Let’s talk about it. You might be closer than you think.
