Introducing Practice Exams for the ICF Certification: Support for Coaches, From a Coach

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is one of the most highly respected certifying bodies for professional coaches. Earning an ICF credential is a meaningful milestone—and while there are several paths to certification, all of them require passing a rigorous, proctored exam.

Let’s be honest: the exam experience can be intimidating.

Driving to a testing center. Interacting with staff who may or may not be welcoming. Showing physical identification. Sometimes being patted down. Glasses inspected for hidden cameras. Signing a confidentiality agreement. Logging onto a clunky old desktop computer. And if you need a break to use the bathroom or grab a snack? Be prepared to go through the entire security process again.

Even for those who have studied thoroughly and know the material inside and out, this environment can feel intense, dysregulating, even. Professionally, the exam is essential. But personally, the process can be overwhelming.

So what do you do?

After recently passing the ICF ACC exam myself, I knew I wanted to support others in navigating this challenge. Many brilliant, capable coaches are held back not by a lack of knowledge, but by the environment in which they’re asked to perform.

That’s why I’m releasing two full-length practice exams (60 questions each) through my coaching website to help train your nervous system and create calm through repetition and predictability.

You are already doing powerful, transformational work as a coach. Let’s get you through this final hurdle together so you can continue to serve your clients with confidence and authenticity.

You’ve got this. And I’ve got your back.
